If the same laundry now takes two cycles, compare the load and settings before blaming the weather. The useful question is what changed in the washer, dryer or exhaust path.

Compare similar loads

A heavy towel load takes different care from light shirts. Check the fabric labels and dryer instructions, and note whether the clothes were unusually wet after the washer’s final spin.

Check the maintenance your dryer needs

Clean the lint screen. On a vented dryer, inspect the accessible exhaust for crushing and the outdoor outlet for blockage. A ventless dryer instead needs the filter, heat exchanger and drainage care described in its manual.

Some Samsung models include a vent blockage test. Use it only if your model supports it and follow the manufacturer’s test instructions. A test result helps identify an airflow restriction but does not replace diagnosis of a heating fault.

Report the pattern

Note whether every load is affected, whether clothes become warm and whether the cycle ends early or runs longer. Include any airflow warning or error code in your dryer repair request. Repeated poor drying should be assessed rather than accepted as a normal seasonal change.
